Out of the Annex Exhibition

A child’s drawing of an early Greyhound bus on the back of a blank check from the Bank of St. Croix Falls which failed during the Great Depression.

In 2023, I curated this exhibition on behalf of the St. Croix Falls Historical Society in partnership with WHAT Art Gallery, a local art gallery located in an old bank vault. The show consisted of photographs, paper ephemera, hand-lettered signs, and unusual objects collected by the St. Croix Falls Historical Society over time.

Everything included in the show was stored in the Annex building of the Historical Society, and is not a part of the permanent collection in the Baker Land and Title Company Museum, and has not seen daylight in years. I digitized, thoroughly researched, wrote about each object, and did a 30-minute presentation during the exhibition's opening reception. This event aimed to inspire a desire for historic preservation in the community and to depict some of the more unique parts of St. Croix Falls’ past for those who attend.
